    Frequently Asked Questions

We've put together a list of questions that people generally ask when starting to use Education Savings Group's Raise Right Fundraising platform.

    Questions

How do you use the Raise Right app for your purchases?
A: When you're at a participating retailer, open the app and purchase an e-gift card that can be used to pay for your transaction. For example, if you're at Barnes & Noble buying books and your total is $62.39, you can open the Raise Right app on your phone and buy an e-gift card for $60. The e-gift card loads within 6 seconds. Go to your wallet in the app and show the retailer the barcode to scan. You can pay the remaining balance with cash or a credit card. That single transaction could earn you $4.80 or $6.60 in rebates, depending on whether Barnes & Noble is offering an 8% or 11% bonus.

Do you buy e-gift cards before you need them?
A: Yes, but only for retailers you know you or your family will use, and typically when a bonus is being offered. For example, DoorDash normally offers 4% rebates, but occasionally increases that to 8%. Each person or family has different spending habits and favorite retailers, so it’s best to plan based on yours.

Can you send an e-gift card as a gift?
A: Yes. All you need is the recipient’s email address. It’s a great way to give a thoughtful gift while earning rebates at the same time.

    What are bonuses?
A: Retailers offer bonuses throughout the year to encourage you to purchase e-gift cards or shop online through their brand. These bonuses are not scheduled in advance and some only last 2–5 days. That’s why it’s important to follow Education Savings Group on Instagram and check your Raise Right app frequently so you don’t miss out on bonus offers from your favorite brands.

How do you know how much you’ve earned?
A: You can check your earnings in the app or online. In the app, tap the person icon in the upper right corner. Your dashboard will show your cumulative earnings, and the order history tab will break down earnings for each individual transaction.

What is online dining and how does it work?
A: Raise Right launched local dining in April 2025. It’s one of the easiest ways to earn rebates. You link your credit card in the Raise Right app, and when you use that linked card to pay at a participating local restaurant, you earn a 5% rebate—plus any points from your credit card. In Orange County, examples of participating restaurants include Diho Siam, La Tia Tacos, Tender Greens, Togo Sandwiches, Mountain Mike's Pizza, The Blind Pig, and more than 300 others.

Can Grandparents or other family members earn rebates for my child?

A:  Yes!  You can can invite them to use Raise Right by clicking the +Invite link in the upper right corner of the app.  You can choose to text or email them an invitation.  When your family member signs up, Education Savings Group receives a referral email referencing you.  Please remember to have your family member also complete our sign up form to direct their gift card rebates to your student.  Even if your family members don't shop online, they can link their credit card in the local dining part of the app and earn 5% rebates on participating restaurants when they dine locally.  That is a very easy way to get started without much thought or effort!

What is the best way to buy e-gift cards?
A: Raise Right offers three ways to buy e-gift cards: link a bank account, use a debit card, or use a credit card. Linking your bank account is usually the most cost-effective, with just a flat $0.29 fee per transaction. Debit cards have a 1% fee, while credit cards carry a 3% fee. Here's a table with an example of a grocery store that offers a 4% reward.
